Learn To Dive with the Belfast Club
As a branch 30 of the British Sub-Aqua Club, we offer training to all BSAC Qualifications; from beginner to advanced levels including associated skill development courses.
The entry level open water qualification is BSAC OCEAN DIVER.
Our intro to Scuba is a simple Try Dive in the pool at the Grove Wellbeing Centre with one of our instructors. This lets you experience Scuba before committing yourself to club membership and enrolment to the entry level OCEAN DIVER course. There is naturally a nominal fee for this try dive.
The OCEAN DIVER course involves both pool and open water training sessions.
The pool training consists of 5 pool sessions, 6 theory lessons, some home study followed by a multiple choice theory test. The pool training and lectures can be completed in 5 to 6 consecutive Monday nights. All the course learning material is supplied as part of the training fee and includes access to the basic Scuba kit for pool training.
For the open water training part of the course, students must provide their own equipment. The time to complete the follow on open water part of the training depends on how quick the student can get kitted out with the necessary equipment for open water diving.
To be awarded the OCEAN DIVER qualification, students must pass the theory test and complete some open water sea dives under supervision of an instructor: using their own SCUBA kit.
All our students receive close support and encouragement from our instructors and fellow members alike to ensure they have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience.
