Learn To Dive with the Belfast Club

As a branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club, we offer training to BSAC Qualifications; from beginner to advanced levels including many associated skill development courses.

Our intro to Scuba is a Try Dive in the pool at the Grove Wellbeing Centre with one of our instructors. This lets you experience Scuba before committing yourself to membership or a full course. There is a nominal fee for this.

The entry level course is BSAC OCEAN DIVER:

The OCEAN DIVER course consists of 5 pool sessions, 6 theory lessons, some home study followed by a multiple choice theory test. The pool training and lectures can be completed in 5 to 6 Monday nights. All the course learning material is supplied as part of the training fee and includes the basic Scuba kit for pool training.

For the open water training part of the course, students must provide their own equipment. The time to complete the follow on open water part of the training depends on how quick the student can get kitted out with the necessary equipment for open water diving.

To be awarded the OCEAN DIVER qualification, students must pass the theory test and complete some open water sea dives under supervision of an instructor: using their own SCUBA kit.

Our experienced Instructors are all volunteers and hold BSAC Instructor Qualifications.

All our students receive close support and encouragement from our instructors and fellow members alike to ensure they have an enjoyable and fulfilling experience.
